Ketchikan Salmon Fishing

If your looking for incredible salmon fishing look no further. Ketchikan has five species of salmon. Kings, sockeye, pink, chum, and silver salmon. Ketchikan salmon fishing starts off its season with king salmon. They start showing up in May with the peak of the run in June. If you are looking for kings, June is the month. The average king salmon weighs about 20 pounds, a trophy is over 50 pounds. Ketchikan fishing really gets hot after the Fourth of July. The pinks, chum, sockeye, and silver salmon show up then. We have five species in at the same time. Ketchikan, Alaska fishing gets fast and furious. Ketchikan has two runs of silver salmon. The first show up around the Fourth of July and are here through August. We have a great silver salmon run in September through the first week of October.   We have great salmon fishing all summer long. Ketchikan fishing has a lot to offer.

Ketchikan Halibut Fishing

Ketchikan also has spectacular halibut fishing to offer. The halibut start showing up in May and are here through the middle of September. Halibut range from ten pounds to over four hundred pounds. The average is about twenty-five pounds. You will be fishing depths ranging from two hundred to over four hundred feet. Halibut fishing is a lot of fun but be prepared to work. Ketchikan halibut fishing is one everyone should try.
